Neurofeedback Certification

1. Fundamentals of Neurofeedback Certification:

This course is an introduction to Neurofeedback. It is targeted at new comers into the field of neurofeedback, who have little or no knowledge of neurofeedback. It consists of two sections:

  1. Workshop training
  2. Practice sessions

The aim of the course is to equip the new participants with basic knowledge and practical skills to be able to conduct an effective neurofeedback session. It is a practical hands on training that trains the participants to be able to carry out a prescribed training protocol effectively.

Participants will be required to do a total of 3 hours of neurofeedback training sessions during the workshop. The neurofeedback training sessions during the workshop will be supervised under an experienced neurofeedback therapist. The supervision is to build skills and experience required to conduct an effective neurofeedback session.

This certification is at an introductory level and does not allow the certified participant to work on subjects with any disorders or charge their subjects for the neurofeedback training they administer.

From our experience, new comers usually do not have any questions or much to discuss. However, after the practicum, they contribute valuable questions and perspectives which is helpful for them when they return to do the Practitioner or Intermediate Certification.

Pre-requisites:

  1. Relevant background in health sciences
  2. Good computer knowledge
  3. Familiar with MS Office
  4. Knowledge of the brain will be beneficial
  5. Keen interest to help others

    Clinical Practice:

  1. Post-workshop practicum
  2. Supervision discussion
  3. Case report submission

The aims of the course are to equip the new practitioners with:

    1. Advanced knowledge and more elaborate practical skills to be able to work on more complex cases.

    2. Knowledge on how to determine which neurofeedback protocols to prescribe.

    3. Knowledge on relevant assessments methods

    4. Knowledge of good clinical practice

After the workshop, participants will be required to conduct minimum 35 hours of training sessions independently or opt for 35 hours of internship placement at any neurofeedback centre of choice approved by SBCIA. Thereafter, they would need to submit two case writeups. There will also be a supervision discussion.

It is a knowledge based training that trains the participants to understand the deep science behind neurofeedback and biofeedback.
